Thieves Like Us are a Swedish-American trio based in Paris, France. With a true charm, they developed a fresh, romantic aesthetic between a pop, funky, naïve universe à la Hot Chip and the German krautrockscene. As all parties seemed to be mainly soundtracked by electro and techno, they began to DJ, playing old Krautrock, italo disco, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Factory Records stuff, and even new hip-hop. Later on they discovered French filther house and added this to their repertoire.

They're a 5 members band (4 girls and a guy) from São Paulo, Brazil, formed at the end of 2003. Theirs songs have an electroclash sound, but they also play indie rock and synthpop songs. The band was labeled as part of the explosion of the New Rave scene. Its songs are in both English and Portuguese.

I’m just a guy who likes to sing and wear fun clothes, who wants to have a laugh and wants everyone to get along. I want my music to take people out of their own life a bit and make them feel happy and feel that they’re more than what they think they are, whatever that is. The world is not as ordinary as people want you to think it is. Formed out of the ashes of First Day Back, they formed while still at school, Friendly Fires make razor-sharp post-punk that burns through the memories of all the dismal, skinny jeaned ‘80s revivalists you’ve been hearing these past few years. Sounding brittle, knotty and urgent, Friendly Fires are the real deal.
